Hailing from Northern Ireland, Therapy? are an alternative metal band who first broke commercially onto the music scene with their landmark album ‘Troublegum’ in 1994, (it was preceded by the ‘shortsharpshock’ ep in 1993 which had a couple of tracks from ‘Troublegum’ including their now signature track, ‘Screamager’), this led to a slew of appearances on Top of the Pops in support of a number of top 40 hits.

Being such a driven and prolific band means that 2018 finds Therapy? recording their 15th studio album (Which Andy and the boys are documenting on instagram @therapyofficial, dusting off old guitars, amps and pedals) taking a break to tour in a rare supporting capacity. Considering that they’re supporting none other than the legendary band ‘The Stranglers’ I doubt they consider it any slight at all, if not an honour!

Over the years Therapy? have been regular visitors to Bristol and have played all over the city; from the Trinity Centre, Thekla, Marble factory and the O2. Regardless of the size of the venue they always endeavour to put on an explosive rock show. With a massive catalogue to draw from; their sets are always crammed with killer songs and littered with hilarious anecdotes of their childhood in Northern Ireland. As well as the tracks previously mentioned you always hope to hear the likes of ‘Church of Noise’, ‘Tides’ or even the early classics like ‘Teethgrinder’ and ‘Meat Abstract’. This show promises to be no different, save for the tease of a new track or two!

Therapy? have always unapologetically delivered their own brand of alternative grunge metal on their own terms and this has always come through in the sheer energy of their on stage performances.

If you love noisy power trios with a talent for a massive hook and catchy chorus, come to the O2 on March 15th.
